This kit is designed as an introduction to mineral testing and identification. 

  This complete hand-on study provides testing supplies, specimens, and clear directions to identify 13 unique minerals.

  The student will gain a basic understanding of minerals and their structure. 

A. The student will learn how to complete the following tests for accurate identification:

      Color, Streak, Smell, Feel, Luster, Magnetic Properties, Chemical Reaction, Hardness

A.  Yes, you can make copies of any worksheet in your kit for family or classroom use.

 Q.  Are the supplies included?

A.  Yes, the kit has everything needed to complete the identification process. 

Note: There are directions for 2 additional “fun” experiments included if you want to further your study.

These experiments use common ingredients that you can purchase easily.

Q.  How does the student identify the minerals?

A.  We use a combination of testing (supplies included), visual assessment, worksheets

       and flowcharts to complete the identification.
