Graphite (Schistose) - 10 Pieces

McDowell County, North Carolina 

Great for classroom use!

Each of these 10 pieces will have at least one side that measures 3/4" in length. 

For each of the 10 pieces, a rough estimate of size is 3/4”+ x 1/2" x 1/4”. 

Material description:  

Graphite is native carbon and is formed during the metamorphism, under intense heat and pressure.  

This particular material has an obvious schistose character, and is battleship gray,

with minor yellow and red iron staining on some surfaces.
