Specifications: The diameter size of each of these mostly round, gypsum "desert roses" is from 3/4" - 1". In other words, if you measure the diameter of each one of these gypsum "desert roses", and averaged them, the overall average would equal approximately 3/4". Additionally, the 7 specimens are packed together in a durable ziplock plastic bag, that has one label with the name of the material and the location in which it was found.

Specific Description: This offering is for the gypsum variety that occurs naturally in an attractive rosette formation, hence the trade name “desert rose”. In general, gypsum usually forms in sediments that are saturated with salt brine that is undergoing evaporation. Also, gypsum is a very soft mineral, approximately 2 on the MOHS, and is also brittle. So, handling with care is advised!
