Specifications: Each of these 10 pieces will have at least one side that measures 3/4" in length, and an overall size estimate of 3/4” x 1/2" x 1/4”. The 10 specimens are packed together in a durable ziplock plastic bag, that has one label with the name of the material and the location in which it was found.

Specific Description: The chemical formula of halite is NaCl, which is sodium chloride.  The color of the halite in this offering is dominated by a muted brick red, milky white and sometimes pink, and varies from translucent to transparent.  The streak is white and the hardness is from 2 - 2.5 on the MOHS.  Additionally, this halite is consumable, in that if you conduct a taste test, it is salty!
