Dolomitic Marble
2" x 3" Specimen
Mitchell County, North Carolina
Each specimen will be at least 2" x 3"
Great for classroom use - some refer to this size as a "hand specimen"
When dolomite is metamorphosed, it becomes dolomitic marble. Dolomitic marble differs
from calcite marble because it contains magnesium in lieu of calcite.
What you will receive in this offering is the fresh and shiny, mostly white material
with hints of gray, from the interior that has not been weathered.
When I break this material, it briefly gives off a rotten egg smell.
Picture is representative of what you will receive.
It is not the actual specimen, but from the same stock your order will be from.
