I am the miner of this material.
A very nice specimen to add to your collection!
Specific material description: This specimen is superior for numerous reasons. Firstly, the "red rum" muscovite mica book is large, clean, unfrayed. When looking down through the "pages" of the book, it's as though you are peering into a glass of sparkling burgundy wine or red rum, which of course points to the origin of the common name for this variety of muscovite mica.
Also, take not of the apatite crystal embedded in the muscovite mica book. At this location, the apatite is a secondary mineral, and an elusive find when in its normal place of formation (the feldspar). To find an apatite crystal formed in a mica book is an even rarer occurrence. Obviously, when I was preparing this specimen, I did not want to peel any of the mica book apart to further expose the apatite crystal, so the view is "down crystal".
Additionally, you will find the rare occurrence of numerous gemmy red almandine garnets formed and embedded in the large "red rum" mica book, as well as sprinkled around the edge of the book.
There are three other apatite crystals embedded in this specimen, as well as numerous areas of small, gemmy red almandine garnets. Also scattered about the specimen are smaller "red rum" muscovite mica books, as well as clear deep brown smokey quartz.
Pictured is the exact specimen that you will receive in this offering. When taking the pictures, I typically do so outdoors in direct sunlight, as well as in the shade. My desire is to provide pictures that accurately reflect the specimen being sold.
Additionally, I do not manipulate the pictures in any way.
