Specific Description: This syenite rock is dominated by very large light bluish-gray to light mauve-gray grains. This material is technically an augite-horneblende-biotite syenite that is largely composed of feldspar, mainly orthoclase and microcline. All syenite is unique for containing very little, if any quartz. The Concord, North Carolina syenite body that this material was collected from, is only 5 miles or so wide, and is shaped in an elliptical outcrop, which is technically referred to as a ring dike.
Photography: The pictures are representative of the quality and general size of the specimen you will receive. None of the pieces pictured, will be the actual one you will receive, but will be from the same rock stock (outcrop or formation) your order will be filled from. Additionally, while taking the representative pictures, a diligent effort was made to capture the material in both direct sunlight and shade.
